Typography Assignment

In this course, I learned about the history of typography and how typography developed to what we know it as today. To put this knowledge to use, I completed eight different exercises. On the left is exercise 5, “replacing a letter with an object”, and on the right is exercise 4, “rethinking font size”. To complete exercise 5, I first had to think of objects that look like letters. I used the treble clef to replace the “s” in symphony, and I used two eighth notes to replace the “n” in passion. To complete exercise 4, I really enjoyed utilizing a combination of font size, subscript, and superscript to create the above font effects.
